I am writing with regard to the article “Muaqibs resorting to dirty tricks to reserve seats” (Apr. 16). I am happy to see that the Saudi government is drastically changing its passport and iqama service by creating an online facility. But many Saudi “muaqibs”, who process government papers for a fee, want to keep the old system because it gives them the power of a slave master who can decide on the movements of expats in Saudi Arabia. Abolish the sponsorship system which is nothing more than modern slavery. Ashref, Online response II. The police should be called upon to deal with these middle men and they should be arrested.
