I am writing with regard to the article “Create jobs for Saudis, but don't get rid of expats, says expert” (Apr. 1). How about allowing expats to own and run their own businesses and regulating them so that they employ the required number of Saudis? There are probably hundreds of thousands of young expats like myself who are willing to run their own business, and if they start employing Saudis, this could help to solve a large part of the Saudi unemployment problem. D. D., Online response II. I am the owner of a kindergarten and I hired experienced high school teachers who were in need of a job last year. They were Saudi nationals and their work was excellent. However, I was forced to replace them inexperienced, less hardworking Saudi university graduates. I just want to understand if this is about creating jobs or about replacing workers. You are writing about replacing expats with Saudis, and I am suffering from replacing Saudi nationals with Saudis. Nosheen Ahmed, Online response
