RIYADH — Al-Sahafah police in Riyadh arrested a man on Monday for allegedly stabbing a mosque muezzin (prayer caller) after Fajr prayers. According to a police statement, a citizen notified police that Al-Rabeeah Mosque's muezzin was stabbed multiple times and the attacker had fled. Police and the Red Crescent rushed to the mosque and transported the victim to the hospital, where he was admitted to intensive care suffering from several stabs to his abdomen, legs, and hands. Forensics teams searched for evidence and intensified their search efforts, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect. He was found to be mentally disturbed, and was detained for further investigations.
