JEDDAH – Five Indian nationals were killed and two others injured in an accident on Taif-Riyadh Expressway early Sunday morning. The van carrying the workers overturned at Ridwan, about 150 km from Taif, following a tire burst. The fatalities were Muhammad Saleem, 32; Muhammed Nawas, 26; Noushad, 26; Thondiyil Koru Sridaran, 35; and Kottiyattil Janardhanan, 40. All five victims hailed from Malappruam district of Kerala. Kadalayil Jamshir, also from Malappuram, and Bangladeshi Mulaim Khan were admitted to King Abdulaziz Hospital in Taif with serious injuries. The bodies of the victims were kept in the morgue of King Faisal Hospital, Taif. The victims worked in the Rabigh branch of Saad Othman Catering, a Dammam-based company. They were reportedly traveling to Riyadh when the accident occured.
