With regard to the article “Where are the traffic police” (Jan. 8), the traffic problems in Jeddah are caused by many factors: one, the complete absence of traffic police on duty on the major roads and streets of the city to deter those who cause traffic; two, in broad daylight you can see cars parked in no parking zones and no police issuing tickets. In general Saudis and expats flaunt traffic laws because no one is implementing them strictly.
