Traffic police do not penalize Saudis

With regard to the post "Drivers in Saudi Arabia are ‘lunatics'" (Oct. 19), the trouble is that when many expats see Saudis driving recklessly, they copy them.
This is why there are so many road accidents and deaths in Saudi Arabia.
There is no respect and road courtesy and drivers have no idea what traffic road signs are for. And most problematic is the fact that traffic police do not penalize citizens who break the rules. After a hug and a few words, all is forgotten and the culprit is let off the hook.
