RIYADH — Seven matches were played in the second week of the Sikandar Farooqi Memorial Cricket Tournament at the RCL Cricket Complex here recently. The tournament is being organized by Riyadh Cricket League (RCL) and sponsored by the Saudi Cricket Centre.
In round two matches, NAB Cricket Club defeated Paktoon Khawa by 23 runs, Ever Green Sixers thrashed Mehran by 5 wickets, Bakhtal Warriors secured victory against Kokan Green, Karachi Titans beat Deccan Stars, Gujranwala won by 9 runs against Royal Fighters, Mughals beat Cricket SAMARWA by 53 runs and Cricketers downed Diamonds by 57 runs.
In the first match, NAB posted 189. Basharat Shah scored 80 with 8 boundaries and 3 sixers. He was well supported by Kamran (31). Waleed made 24, while Abbas scored 37. Haroon, Mudassar and Sajid took 2 wickets each. In reply, Pakhtoon Khawah CC could make only 166.
Khalid was the only batsman who played with confidence and made 36, while Rana Muneer scored 17 and Khalil 19. Basharat Shah took 3 wickets, while Abbas and Nazir claimed 2 wickets each. Man-of- the-Match: Basharat Shah.
Ever Green 6ers beat Merhan CC by 5 wickets. Batting first, Mehran was bowled out for 125. Abdulrehman and Mudassar took 3 wickets each, while Amjad claimed 2 and Haroon 1. In reply, Ever Green achieved the target in 18 overs. Khawar Malik made 43. Aqeel scored 22 and Adil 17. Usman Shah took 2 wickets, while Fakhar and Majid got 1 wicket each. Bhatkal Warriors defeated Konkan Green CC by 47 runs. Batting first, Bhatkal recorded 237. Sameer hit 73. He was supported by Khaled (42). Haneef made 27 and Fadal 23. Nayeem took 3 wickets, while Ajaz got 2. In reply, Konkan Green could reach only 190. Danish Mullaji played with confidence and made 96, while Imran hit 26. Tahur took 3 wickets, while Safwan and Mahboob got 2 each. Man-of-the-Match: Sameer.
Karachi Titans beat Deccan Stars by 8 runs. Batting first, Karachi Titans set a target of 182. Rizwan scored 68 with 10 fours. He was supported by Moin (25). Jawad made 14 and Asif 16. Mujtaba and Salah took 3 wickets each, while Shaji, Wasim and Amir took 1 each. In reply, Deccan Stars were bowled out for 174. Aamir scored 37, while Bobby hit 24, Nisar 25 and Wasim 22. Asif, Moosa and Moin took 2 wickets each. Man-of-the-Match: Rizwan.
Gujranwala won against Royal Fighters by 9 runs. Syed Waqar Ahmed hit a splendid unbeaten century (100) with 14 boundaries. Usman Ashraf scored 47. Dashing Dastageer slammed 68. Mateen took 1 wicket. In reply, Royal Fighters were bowled out for 223. Siddiqullah made 45, Ammen 40 and Izhar 44. Ashraf and Omar Khalid took 2 wickets each, while Kamran and Omar got 1 each. Man-of-the-Match: Syed Waqar Ahmed.
Mughal CC beat Cricket SAMARWA by 53 runs. Batting first, Mughal set a total of 223. Sajjad made 57, Javed 43, Sajjad Shah 42, Asghar Khan 19 and Zahid 13. Shoaib took 4 wickets, while Abubaker and Aasif Sheikh got 2 each. In reply, Cricket SAMARWA was bowled out for 170. Ahsan made 45, Abubaker 40, Amir 18, Zafar 19 and Wasim 13. Asghar Khan took 5 wickets. Man-of-the-Match: Asghar Khan.
Cricketers beat Diamond CC by 57 runs. Batting first, Cricketers made 192. Zeeshan Malik made 68. Farhan Malik contributed 50 and Abdul Waheed 33. Ibrahim of Diamond CC took 3 wickets, while Umar, Aamir and Ejaz Ahmed took 1 each. In reply, Diamond CC was bowled out for 134. Waseem scored 34, whereas Imran made 23 and Amer 22. Nabeel took 3 wickets, while Waqas, Zeeshan Malik and Zeeshan Khan got 2 each. Man-of-the-Match: Zeeshan Malik.
