I am writing with regard to the article “Runaway Saudi women: Reasons and remedies” (Dec. 28). Developing a child's mental capabilities and nurturing her in a proper home environment will result in a young woman realizing when she grows up that her parents provided her with all the love and caring that a parent should have for their daughter. Apart from this, parents should see to it that the people, friends and places a young woman frequents are suitable. This will make it much easier for her to build and develop her outlook on life. There would be no runaway women if only parents knew how to care for their children. Manong, Online response II. This article does not really help as much as it tries to preach about morality, truth, and honesty. Women here are changing faster than people can handle. What the author is mentioning is not the main reason why women run away. My belief is that most of the time they probably want more freedom than what they are given.
