DAMMAM — A man has been sentenced to 20 lashes by the Makkah District Court for falsely claiming that his wife was not a virgin at the time of marriage. The marriage took place over a year ago. The wife, who has a baby with the husband, filed a case against him. When the judge asked him to prove his allegation, the husband could not do so. The judge decided the man was trying to defame his wife and sentenced him to 20 lashes.
