TAIF — The local educational directorate is investigating an alleged assault by a school worker against an elementary student. The worker allegedly choked the student and struck him with pens and pencils repeatedly. The student's father said the worker had also assaulted his other children. He said the man had rented an apartment from him. He said the worker's relatives claimed that he was suffering from a mental illness, so he was asked to leave the apartment. The father said he believed this was the reason his son was assaulted by the worker. The head of Taif's Educational Directorate, Mohammad Al-Shamrani, said the incident is under investigation.
