ABHA — Asir Governor Prince Faisal Bin Khaled met today Pakistan Consul General Aftab A Khokher and they discussed matters of mutual interest. Community Welfare Attaché Tahsimul Haq Haqqi accompanied the Consul General who conveyed the greetings of the Pakistani leadership to the Governor of Asir. The Governor said that Pakistan's stability and prosperity was very dear and close to Saudi leadership. He said that Pak-Saudi relations were of strategic nature and it was the endeavor of the Saudi leadership to further deepen these ties. The Consul General lauded the economic strides made in Asir region, especially in agriculture and education. The Consul General discussed with the Governor issues relating to the Pakistani community in the Asir region including expedition of pending Diyat cases, labor issues, change of sponsorship and professions. He also requested for provision of sports facilities and community school for Pakistani expatriates in the region. The Governor assured the Consul General that he will resolve all those problems including permission of free medical camp by Pakistani doctors for the Pakistani expatriates on priority basis. Series of events With the resolution of Kashmir dispute being the cornerstone of Pakistan foreign policy, the consulate under guidance of Ambassador Muhammed Naeem Khan will continue to promote this objective and raise awareness in the Kingdom. Consul General Khokher made this statement after a seminar held in Jeddah on highlighting the struggle of Kashmiri people for their right of self-determination since Kashmir Black Day. He stated that a series of events have been planned by the Consulate which started with a photo exhibition at OIC headquarters this Monday and a seminar next day. Kashmiri scholars were also invited to attend these events. A prominent Saudi philanthropist Abdullah Al Sabiq also announced launching a human rights organization for Kashmiri people — Abna e Makkah. — SG
