Mujahid Syed Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Literary Halqae-Danishwaran Jeddah organized its annual Natia Mushairah and literary evening at Al-Rahmah Restaurant recently. The event was attended by a large number of dignitaries and poets. Dr. Khursheed, Athar Siddiqui, professor at King Abdul-Aziz University, Jeddah, Abu Ahmad Akif, Tahsimul Haq Haqqi, welfare consul Pakistan, Muhammad Bilal, Principal of Pakistan International School, Jeddah, shed light on the life and deeds of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Each speaker emphasized that the Prophet was a mercy to all mankind and in order to save humanity people need to follow his teachings. The path shown by the Prophet, not only can save humanity from destruction but it can also give it peace and eternal solace. The speakers lauded Halqae-Danishwaran Jeddah's efforts in serving Urdu literature and poetry. The event opened at 10:30 pm and ended at 1:30 am. After the speeches, the second session of Mushairah saw poets from Jeddah and Taif regaling the audience. Muhammad Mujahid Syed, Aftab Turabi, Dr. Tauqir Haider, Muhammad Mukhtar Ali, Abdul Qayyum Wasiq, Irfan Barabankawi, Dr. Rizwan Muhazzabi, Zamurrad Saifi, Zawwar Qamar Abedi, Mohsin Alwi and Anwar Hussain paid glowing tributes to the Prophet in their verses. Hafiz Khalid Qidwai recited verses of the Holy Qur'an and Pakistan's famous “Naat” singers Muhammad Nawaz Janjua, Sher Afzal, Faiyyaz Qarshi, Amir Sultan and Ashir Wakeel had the audience in thrall with their melodious voices and style. Ashfaq Badayuni emceed the event and thanked the participants for their valuable contribution.
