Nadia Al-Fawwaz Saudi Gazette ABHA — A fire struck the server room of Asir's labor office, causing the office to close down temporarily. Ministry of Labor spokesman Hattab Al-Enezi said the fire did not result in any injuries and was confined to the server room. He said the fire was caused by an electrical shortage and that the ministry's maintenance teams were working around the clock to repair the damage and ensure the safety of the computer network. He said the office would be ready for business within two working days. However, urgent sponsorship transfer cases will be referred to other labor offices in the region. Asir Civil Defense spokesman Col. Mohammad Al-Asmi said other nearby rooms were mildly affected by the smoke and that smoke suction equipment was used to ventilate the offices. He said the electrical shortage was caused by air-conditioning equipment operating around the clock to cool the server room. He said investigations are still underway in cooperation with the labor office.
