JEDDAH — Pakistan International School Jeddah - English Section (PISJ-ES) students, faculty members and the administration geared up enthusiastically Monday to create the national flag of Saudi Arabia ahead of the Saudi National Day. The flag of Saudi Arabia, created with thumb impressions, is likely to be unveiled on the Saudi National Day. PISJ-ES vividly witnessed enthusiasm at the campus by students of all grade levels, ranging from playgroup to year level 13, exhibiting their profound love for Saudi Arabia which they consider as their second homeland. Flags of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan were mounted at different corners and buildings of the school, and green and white balloons beautified the campus. Students had their faces painted in green and white, symbolizing the Saudi flag and truly looking like Ambassadors of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia. It is a tradition at PISJ-ES to celebrate the Saudi National Day with great zeal and zest. The teachers conduct enlightening lectures and discussions based on the culture and heritage of Saudi Arabia. Special emphasis is given on the teaching of Arabic language, history, and geography of Saudi Arabia is taught to create awareness and understanding among the students about its heritage, culture, traditions, norms. Senator and school principal Sehar Kamran said: "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the head of OIC and is held in a place of great prestige by all its members and Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the only Islamic country created with an Islamic ideology on 27th of Ramadan. "It's a very sacred land… the only sole nuclear power of the Muslim world. Saudi Arabia is playing a leadership role for the Muslim Ummah. "Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have strong bilateral ties while we are living here with all our independence to follow our national dignity and integrity we respect Saudi Arabia equally. "The visionary leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah is leading the Muslim Ummah toward the path of prosperity and is a strong voice of the Muslim World. We pray for the progress and prosperity of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan." She added: "We respect the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and we are here to promote bilateral ties. "We send a strong message that we respect the rules and regulations of the Kingdom while we are spending our lives here. There has always been a massive level of mutual respect between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan. Saudi Arabia has always shown keen interest in the development and well-being of Pakistan. We Pakistanis are indeed proud to be a part of this bond of brotherhood." Kamran wished the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia many more achievements and developments and also prayed for the long life and health of King Abdullah. — SG
