Syeda Amtul Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Students of the Pakistan International School — English Section (PISJ-ES) celebrated “Rainbow Day” with enthusiasm in the presence of parents, students and visitors at the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Auditorium on Thursday. The tiny tots mesmerized the jam-packed hall with their extraordinary performances, artistic style and vibrant colored dresses. The program started with the recitation of the Qur'an followed by the national anthems of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The school principal and Pakistan Senator, Sehar Kamran said her special prayers for the progress, prosperity and safety of the beloved country Pakistan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and for the unity of Muslim Ummah. Kamran said that “Rainbow Day” is one of the most anticipated, enthralling and colorful events of the school. “I am sure that the innocent, cute and charming actions will touch your hearts and soul. I hope you will be highly inspired by the mesmerizing performances of our little angels. It is not any easy job to train and coach these little kids and make them perform so well. Our teachers deserve lots of appreciation for their incredible hard work, and for the way they discovered the students' talents and groomed them is amazing,” she said. Pakistan Consular General Aftab Khokher was also present at the function. The show kicked off with an energetic performance by the Y1 students on “Jump the Line,” beautifully displaying the history of Brazil. The YN-3 students performed on “I am Live,” a theme song based on the forests and birds. The Y2-6 students gave a taste of the glamorous world of fashion when they confidently cat-walked on the red carpet as superstars and models on the song “Watch Me.” Team work can make a show successful and the Y1-3 students delivered the humble message by performing to “We Are All In This Together.” The YR-5 students engulfed the audience in the hi-tech world of gadgets by performing on “Technology.” The YN-7 students dressed as scuba divers embarked on an undersea voyage when they delivered a spectacular performance on “Underwater discovery.” The audiences were also taken on a wondrous ride in the space world by the Y2 students. The YR-7 students expressed themselves about what they wanted to become when they grow up on the song “When I grow up.” Determined to eradicate pollution, the Y1-8 performed on “We Can't Back Down.” Students of Y2-11, garbed in the traditional dresses of Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, entertained the audiences by performing on a song themed around friendship. Patriotic Y2-8 students gave a spectacular performance on “Hall of Fame,” where each student wished to become successful a professional representing their country to the world. Other performances by the students included “Jump Up,” “Party Rock,” “What Are Dreams Made Of,” “Colour Kids,” “Puppet On The String,” “Going The Zoo,” “Walk The Dinosaur,” “Batchi Batchi,” “Living In A Rainbow,” and “Cooking By The Hook.” Umm Abdullah, a visitor at the show, said: “It was truly a marvelous show. It reflected the efforts of the little stars, the dedicated staff members and the supportive parents.” “These innocent artists really deserve to be praised for capturing our hearts,” she added.
