Abdulrahman Al-Ali Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — A Yemeni youth was arrested by the Commission of the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (Haia) for blackmailing a woman in her 20s. The woman filed complaint with the Haia after the man, with whom she used to go out, started harassing her and asking her to sleep with him or else he would expose her to her family and post her photos on social networking sites. She told the Haia that she had turned down all the man's constant requests to have an illicit relationship with him. She even told him that if he did not stop threatening her, she would go to the Haia. But he never stopped calling her. He got crazier when she asked him to delete all her photos and text messages. Haia members asked the woman to call him and tell him she had agreed to his requests and she wanted to meet him. When the Yemeni man together with a friend showed up in a car, Haia members arrested him while his friend, who also threatened the woman a couple of times, managed to escape. Haia reported the other man, also a Yemeni, to the police and a search is underway.
