Mishal Al-Otaibi Saudi Gazette RIYADH — The Summary Court in Riyadh has sentenced a Syrian national to 10 months in jail for blackmailing a Saudi woman for sex. The judge also ordered his deportation upon serving the jail term. The Syrian was working as a security guard at a private school where the woman works as a teacher. Officials of the Commission for Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice (the Hai'a) had received a complaint from the woman in which she said that the Syrian was harassing her with threatening calls. Following exchange of text messages between them, the man started blackmailing her. He threatened her that he would circulate her SMS among her colleagues and teachers if she was not ready to have sex with him.
