Mishal Al-Otaibi Saudi Gazette RIYADH — Police detectives arrested two suspects in the murder of an Egyptian resident who was found dead in a pool of blood in a car garage in Dar Al-Bayda district of southern Riyadh recently. The arrest of the two Indians put an end to the mystery shrouding the gruesome murder in the Saudi capital. The suspects, both in their 20s, had allegedly killed the Egyptian and escaped from the scene because of an ongoing dispute between them. Al-Aziziyah police station received a report from in Al-Iman Hospital saying an Egyptian national in his 40s was brought dead to the hospital. The body had bruises and deep wounds in the head and neck. He was found lying on the ground in a pool of blood in a used car showroom belonging to his female sponsor. Due to the gravity of the crime and the mystery shrouding it, the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) set out a work plan to investigate the case. The victim's sponsor said the Egyptian was in charge for the car showroom in Dar Al-Bayda district. She said two weeks before the crime occurred, she had hired two new workers. Though she did not know much about the workers, the pair were interested in transferring their sponsorship to her within the ongoing correction period. The woman claimed that around noon on the day of the crime, the victim telephoned her and said the two workers beat him up in the showroom. She said she immediately went to the showroom after calling a Red Crescent ambulance. They found the victim lying on the ground in a pool of blood. There was a deep gash in his head. He was rushed to hospital, but he succumbed to his wounds. The detectives started a search for the two workers in the community they belonged to and questioned anyone who had ties with them kept under surveillance. The continuous efforts resulted in the arrest of the two alleged murderers. During interrogations, one of them said he hit the victim with an iron bar in his head, neck and different parts of his body until he died. He was helped by the other Indian, who admitted that there was an ongoing dispute between them and the Egyptian and they wanted to take revenge. The pair were taken into custody and the case was handed over to the Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution (BIP).
