Police have released a Burmese man held for interrogations over the death of his wife on Saturday and announced the capture of the woman's real killer. The bereaved husband was initially held after police failed to be convinced by his version of events, which said that he was working late at a carpentry shop and went home to find his wife lying in a pool of blood, but their attentions turned to another suspect following evidence found at the scene of the crime that pointed towards an interrupted robbery attempt. Police identified a new suspect and put him under surveillance until they found conclusive evidence that tied him to the scene of the murder. The man later confessed to his crimes during interrogations. The victim was killed last Saturday in an eastern district of Jeddah when she was stabbed five times in the neck and chest at her home. The intruder reportedly jumped over the wall of the house and stole electrical cables, taking a knife from the kitchen when his victim became alerted to his presence.
