A man has been arrested on murder charges after his victim gave police a description of his attacker shortly before his death. Passersby in the Al-Safa district of Jeddah rushed to call an ambulance at dawn Sunday after finding a man lying in a pool of blood from a stab wound in the neck. The man, who died shortly after arriving at hospital, gave police a description of his attacker and officers were sent out to follow leads and set up impromptu checkpoints around the district, eventually leading to the detention of an individual in Thamaneen Street. After initially denying involvement in the crime, the suspect later confessed to having stabbed the victim a single time in the neck, claiming that the victim was the initial aggressor and that he had managed to take the knife from him and respond in self-defense. Investigators continue to look into the suspect's claims.
