Mishal Al-Otaibi Saudi Gazette RIYADH – Police here have arrested a man who was allegedly involved in a series of crimes, including attempted murder, kidnapping and robbery. Riyadh police spokesman Col. Nasser Bin Saeed Al-Qahtani said the suspect was accused of threatening and firing at security personnel on several occasions, attempted murder, attempt to kidnap a boy at gunpoint and various types of robbery. Col. Al-Qahtani said the man allegedly carried out crimes in other regions as well. “When we got several complaints, we managed to gather as much information as possible about him before launching a massive manhunt. After we received information that he was hiding at his brother's residence, officers surrounded the house,” said the spokesman. He said the man's attempt to escape disguised as a woman was foiled by the security men. His brother was also arrested for giving him shelter. A huge cache of weapons, including three machine guns, two revolvers and more than 550 rounds of ammunition, was seized from the house. Drugs, including a huge quantity of hashish and 1,300 amphetamine pills, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash were also seized.
