RIYADH: Police in Riyadh arrested a man in his twenties in the Al-Naseem District Friday for allegedly shooting one expatriate and robbing another after ramming their car. According to Nasser Al-Qahtani, spokesman for Riyadh Police, eyewitnesses said the man and an accomplice had been in a car which they used to ram another containing two foreigners. One of the two aggressors then descended from their vehicle, pointed a pistol at the two in the other car and robbed them of SR300. The victims' attempt to resist robbery led to one of them being shot in the thigh. Al-Qahtani said a patrol arrived to observe a man holding a pistol in a crowd of foreigners, one of whom lay injured on the ground with a bullet wound. Officers restrained the alleged aggressor and took him into custody while the injured man was taken to hospital. Al-Qahtani said the pistol contained four live bullets and three empty cartridges, while the arrested man also had in his possession seven mobile telephones, five grams of hashish, SR341 in cash, four pre-paid mobile telephone recharge cards and several door keys.
