RIYADH – Powerhouse Zezo team and the flamboyant Rodel Maranca sparkled to capture the Best Team and Best Bowler of the Week awards, respectively, in the 11th Week of the Al-Rabie-Itqan Bowlers Group (IBG) Friday Afternoon Bowling League, 3rd Conference here recently. The league is solely sponsored by Al-Rabie and organized by IBG Advocate, Ian Choco. Also supporting the event is Nelson de Vera, Thales official. The venue of the game is the Universal Bowling Center (UBC). Unstoppable Zezo team, banking on the good games of Cas Encila, Fhel Ramos, Jojo Miraflor and hard-hitting Jess Ambon, blanked the fancied Angel Vipers by collecting 24 big points and the Team of the Week award. Angel Vipers got 10 points. At the end of the game Zezo posted an overall total output of 4,080 against 3,829 points. Encila was at his best in Zezo by posting a four-game series handicap of 876. Encila carded 226, 244, 141 and 209. Ramos followed Encila with 848 series scratch on lines of 202, 254, 209 and 183. Miraflor and Ambon had 796 and 776, while Boy Mirando added 590 series in three games. Ed Cruz made 194 in one game. Fast-rising Leo Tolete shone in Angel Vipers by knocking down a series handicap of 807. He was followed by James Boyd (761), Edgar Badeo (752) and FBGR officer Angel Caasi (716). Dawood Sereno and Koko Torres had 428 and 366 series in two outings. Thales team, managed by FBGR Deputy Chairman for External Affairs, despite losing to Itqan Tornado (15-18), did not go home empty-handed as its player Rodel Maranca emerged as the Bowler of the Week. Maranca, a Class B1 player with 14 handicaps exploded 890 series. Maranca carded 170, 205, 196 and 253. Sharing honor with him were team members Celis Viloria (784), Dennis Gabriel (752) and bankable Bembol Velasco (701). Ismail Viloria and Jobert Pomado scored 505 and 361. The tandem of Freddie Santiago and the ever-green Ruben Babasa sizzled to lead in Itqan Tornado by posting an identical four-game series handicap of 819. FBGR Director for Tournament and Technical Affairs and IBG 2nd Conference Perfect 300 achiever, Ric Urrutia Jr., sparked with 792 points. Reynald Medina and Gigi “KC” Enriquez also added separate series of 790 and 738 points, respectively. Dabarkads scored another astounding victory over the Itqan Tenpin Wizards 23-10. Obet Miranda, Dong Yamco and Glenmar “juan” dela Cruz excelled in Dabarkads by scoring 874, 814 and 821 in that order. Charlie Cheng and Lito Alarcon contributed 787 and 629. Posting the best score in Itqan Tenpin Wizards was the former titlist Jun Bantug. He nailed down 823 series in four matches. Next was Ric Singson with 798 points, while IBG Advocate Ian Choco collected 776 points. Arnold Jesena, Doy del Moral, Thong Asuncion and Fareed Aquino chipped in with 375, 365 and 295.
