RIYADH — The Customs officers at Al-Batha dry port foiled two separate smuggling attempts. The first was for smuggling 73.8 kg of hashish and the second was for cash reaching SR477,000. Dhaifallah Al-Otaibi, Director General of Customs at Al-Batha dry port said, “In the first operation, a driver hid a quantity of hashish in the fuel tank of his vehicle and tried to enter the Kingdom with the contraband. In the second operation, a driver hid a large amount of cash in the engine of his truck. The cash was wrapped tightly in a plastic bag and hidden in a box in the truck head.” Al-Otaibi confirmed the Customs officers at Al-Batha dry port are vigilant and they make all efforts to prevent the entry of all banned substances. – SG/SPA
