Batha border post have foiled two attempts to smuggle a total of 3,431 bottles of liquor into the Kingdom, said Dhaifallah Bin Badr Al-Otaibi, Director General of Al-Batha Customs. In the first operation, officers foiled a driver's attempt to smuggle 3,312 bottles of liquor by hiding them in secret nooks inside ceramics crates that were prepared to hide the contraband, he said. In the second operation, a driver attempted to smuggle 119 bottles of liquor hidden in his car's fenders, front bumper and spare tire, Al-Otaibi said. Al-Otaibi said the liquor was seized in preparation for destroying it and the two drivers were referred to the authorities concerned.
