HAFR AL-BATIN — A traffic police officer was killed and another injured after their patrol car overturned while trying to avoid a vehicle carrying four illegal Somalis in Hafr Al-Batin. The other vehicle had crossed in front of the patrol car. Eastern Province Red Crescent spokesman Fahd Al-Ghamdi said ambulances attended the scene and provided first aid. The body was transferred to the mortuary and the injured were taken to King Khalid Hospital. Meanwhile, two people were injured in a head-on collision near Tharban, Al-Majardah. One of the injured suffered a fractured leg. He was treated and released from hospital. The other victim is still being treated in hospital. Another traffic accident closed King Fahd Road in Abha and caused traffic congestion. Traffic police attended the accident and removed the cars before reopening the road to traffic.
