JEDDAH — Al Ahli continued their rise in form and returned to winning ways in the Saudi Pro League with a 2-0 victory over visitors Al Raed in their Round 10 match. The home side capitalized on the positive momentum from their impressive midweek win in the AFC Champions League, extending their strong performance with goals from Gabri Veiga and Ali Al Asmari. Al Ahli's victory lifted them to 14 points, as they continued their steady climb up the standings, while Al Raed remained on 11 points after suffering their second consecutive defeat. The match, held at King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, lacked much excitement, and Al Ahli had little difficulty securing the three points, even though the second goal came only in the dying moments. After a goalless first half, Al Ahli broke the deadlock early in the second half, with Gabriel Vega converting a cross from Riyad Mahrez into the net in the 55th minute. Substitute Ali Al Asmari sealed the win with a goal in the fourth minute of stoppage time, capitalizing on a perfect pass from Ivan Toney to place the ball into the net, securing the deserved three points for Al Ahli.
