JEDDAH — Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah and adviser to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, received Sheikh Abdullah Saleh Kamel, chairman of the Board of Directors of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), and members of the board at the emirate's headquarters here on Monday. During the meeting, Prince Khaled congratulated Sheikh Kamel and the board members on their election to the MCCI board and wished them all success. The emir listened to a briefing about the work strategy and the future vision of the Makkah Chamber, which includes organizing events, forums and activities to support the national economy in general and the trade and commerce in Makkah in particular. Prince Khaled was also briefed on the chamber's plans to support manufacturers of consumer products that serve the Hajj and Umrah and hospitality sectors and to promote light industries so that the holy city of Makkah will become the hub of such industries. On his part, Sheikh Kamel thanked the emir and appreciated his continuous support to the chamber, and to all commercial and economic sectors in the region. He said the chamber will work according to its new strategy to support integration and coordination with all relevant authorities to enhance Makkah's commercial and environmental status as represented by the Green Makkah Initiative.
