In implementation of the directives of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, the surgical operation to separate the Yemeni Siamese twins Mawaddah and Rahmah will be conducted this Thursday. The conjoined twins, from Aden Governorate will be operated at King Abdullah Specialized Children's Hospital in King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) at the Ministry of National Guard in Riyadh. This was revealed in a press statement by the Advisor at the Royal Court, the General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, and the head of the medical and surgical team, Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabeeah. He expected that the surgery will take about 11 hours, indicating that it would be carried out in 6 stages, with 28 participating doctors and specialists, in addition to technicians and nursing cadres. He added that the Yemeni Siamese twins are female, and were born connected to the lower chest and abdomen.
