Saudi weightlifter Ali Al-Othman has won two gold medals and one silver medal in the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships being held in Tashkent, capital of Uzbekistan. The Saudi national team's weightlifter claimed his first gold in the 96-kg clean and jerk competitions. He bagged the second gold with lifting of 193 kilograms. Al-Othman has also bagged the silver medal in the snatch competition with a weight of 151kg, and scoring a total of 344 points. More than 261 weightlifters representing 21 countries are participating in the event. Mohammed Al-Harbi, chairman of the Saudi Weightlifting Federation and member of the Executive Office of the International Weightlifting Federation and Asian Weightlifting Federation, praised the achievements made by the Saudi weightlifters, administrative and technical bodies of the Saudi national weightlifting teams for the outstanding performance in the continental and international championships.
