Saudi weightlifter Ali Al-Othman has won two gold medals of clean and jerk competitions in the 96kg class and the total at the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship, held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan after winning the two gold medals of clean and jerk by lifting 193kg and totaling 344 points. Al-Othman has also won the silver medal in the snatch competition in the 96kg weight class at the championship by lifting 151kg and in the overall weight 96kg by gaining 344 points, amid a fierce competition among the weightlifters of the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championship, which is witnessing the participation of more than 261 weightlifters representing 21 countries. On the occasion, the chairman of the Saudi Weightlifting Federation and member of the Executive Office of the International and Asian Federations, Mohammed Al-Harbi, praised the achievement made by the members of the Saudi Weightlifters, the Federation, administrative and technical bodies of the Saudi national weightlifting teams, which demonstrated the ability of Saudi weightlifting to be one of the tributaries of gold and excellence in international championships.
