Munawarunnisa Nazneen Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Al Majal School, Jeddah recently celebrated the Janadriyah cultural event related to the Janadriyah festival in Riyadh. Children wore different types of national costumes based on their regions. They brought along with them regional food which everyone enjoyed together, and sang and danced on folk tunes. School principal Noor Al-Qahtani said: “Al Majal School celebrated Al Janadriyah day in accordance with the weeklong Janadriyah festival. The children of Al Majal Kids Zone have experienced a cultural day which their ancestors have lived. Here, we nurture them to grow up loving their country. The children of Al Majal are patriotic and cherish the new era and the old alike.” The owner and the general supervisor, Nabil Yaqoub, recited a poetry on this special occasion entitled “Atfal Al-Majal Yaayshu Tarash Al-Jadeed,” emphasizing that the teachers instill in their students feelings of love and patriotism in the hearts of their students. “So, the kids grow up cherishing their country and their Islamic identity “Gars Hub Al-Watan Bi-Janadriyah Atfal Al-Majal”. Kulsum Shafi, an English teacher, said that it was a refreshing change for the teachers to celebrate such an event with their students. Now, when the school year is ending, this party gave an opportunity to bid farewell to the students in a memorable way. The kids were encouraged with prizes for their participation and the mothers who worked the hardest on her dish was also awarded a prize for her participation.
