RIYADH — Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health recorded on Sunday 317 new cases of coronavirus over the past 24 hours. The single-day cases in the Kingdom breached the 300-mark for six days in a row after more than two months. The virus-related deaths, however, remained low despite a slight increase in the new cases with just 5 reported on Sunday, according to the ministry's statement. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 370,278 and fatalities to 6,402 respectively. The ministry also reported 278 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 361,515. The Riyadh region recorded the highest number of infections with 153 cases, followed by the Eastern region with 71 and the Makkah region with 35 new infections. The remaining cases were detected in different other regions of the Kingdom. With the slight increase in the number of new cases, the active cases in Saudi Arabia rose to 2,361 out of which 408 were critical.
