RIYADH — Saudi Arabia recorded on Tuesday 473 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, marking a slight increase on Monday's figure of 381, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. The ministry announced 19 more patients died over the past 24 hours from complications caused by COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed infections in the Kingdom to 348,510 and virus-related fatalities to 5,456. The ministry also reported 481 new recoveries over the past 24 hours, raising the total number of people free from the deadly virus to 335,153 with the recovery rate rising to 96.26 percent. Of the new cases, Madinah recorded the highest with 73 followed by Makkah with 45, and Riyadh with 40 infections. The remaining cases were detected in different cities and governorates across the Kingdom. Meanwhile, active cases have continued to remain below 8,000 with 7,901 reported on Tuesday, out of which 749are critical, the statement added.
