JEDDAH — Customs officials at Jeddah port have successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle more than 8 million tablets of Captagon hidden in a shipment of cereal coming from Turkey, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday. In a statement, Mohammed bin Ali Al-Naeem, undersecretary at Saudi Customs for Security Affairs, disclosed that as much as 8753432 tablets of Captagon were carefully hidden in a consignment of groats coming from Turkey to Jeddah port. He added that the accused — a Saudi national and two Syrians — have been arrested and necessary legal procedures are underway.
