Saudi Gazette. JEDDAH — Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF), a group of Pakistani origin journalists working in Saudi Arabia, held a grand farewell dinner to honor the outgoing Consular (Press) at Pakistan Consulate General Jeddah, Arshad Munir, on Tuesday. Consul General Pakistan Khalid Majid, Coordinator Abu Nasser Shuja, Minister Mohammed Khalid, PJF officials and members attended the event. Amir Mohammed Khan, chairman PJF, welcomed all the guests and highlighted the close interaction between PJF and Munir. He congratulated him on the successful completion of his 3-year tenure in Jeddah (which is considered one of the most challenging station). He further described his positive role in improving the services of press section and praised his efforts in enhancing the relations between Saudi and Pakistani media houses. Other members included President Shahid Naeem, GS Jamil Rathore, Asad Akram, Maroof Hussain, Mustafa Khan, Arsalan Hashmi, Mohammed Adeel, Mohammed Amanat Ullah and Yahiya Ashfaq. They also expressed gratitude to the Munir and wished him all success in future. Siraj Wahab, a senior journalist in Saudi Arabia, congratulated him on elevating the relationship between Pakistan and India as well as in promoting and facilitating flow of information during his period. His period will be always remembered a golden period for journalists, he added. The consul general appreciated the professional assistance and advises of Munir. He greatly appreciated his services and support given during the coronavirus. Munir thanks all participants and PJF for hosting grand function. He said my wife and I carry back good memories of our stay here and wish Saudi Arabia and its people peace and prosperity. At the end PJF members presented a memento to the Consul (Press) Arshad Munir followed by group picture of ceremony.
