Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Pakistan Journalist Forum (PJF), a well known platform of Pakistani journalists in Saudi Arabia, hosted a farewell dinner in honor of Mahmood Hasan, senior sports journalist of Saudi Gazette, at the residence of Amir Mohammed Khan, chairman PJF, on Friday. The dinner was attended by senior PJF members included Syed Absar Ali, Khalid Kursheed, Shahzad Azam, Mohammed Amil Usmani, Asad Akram, Khalid Nawaz Cheema, Liaqat Anjum and Yahiya Ashfaq along with eminent Urdu and Arabic scholar and senior broadcaster of Saudi Radio Dr. Laiq ullah Khan. Amir Mohammed Khan welcomed and thanked all guests. He expressed his deep concerns over the cold relation of Pakistani diplomats with Saudi newspapers. He said they do not have proper interaction with Saudi media to promote relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia according to the need of time. He added that many noted Saudi journalists such as Khaled Almaeena, Editor at large Saudi Gazette, Tariq Al Maeena, Dr. Ali Al-Ghamdi, and Fahim Al-Hamid, senior editor Okaz, exerted extraordinary efforts in portraying a positive image for Pakistan. He further said Saudi scholars are positive on Pakistan's affairs and want to increase Pakistan's economic and social betterment. But Pakistani diplomats' have not been encouraging of these Pakistan sympathizers. Muhammad Jamil Rathore, general secretary PJF, acknowledged Mahmood Hassan's role in projecting and promoting Pakistan's positive image. Rathore acknowledged the patriotic vision of Mahmood Hasan in the journalism. Dr. Laiq ullah Khan praised the "Vision 2030" and said this will give a new face to Kingdom in economic and social area. At the end journalists expressed good wishes to Mahmood Hasan. Liaqat Anjum, acting president PJF, gave vote of thanks.
