RIYADH — Saudi Border Guards Ship "Al-Laith" managed to evacuate a 34-year old Chinese national sailor, with a broken right hand, from on a maritime ship's deck, to the north of Jeddah Islamic Port in the Red Sea, Saudi Press Agency reported. The official spokesman of the Saudi Border Guards Lt. Col. Missfir Bin Ghannam Al-Quiraini pointed out that the Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Jeddah (JMRCC) received a call from the captain of a ship navigating from a US port of Charleston destined to a port in Vietnam, bearing a Hong Kong flag, on an illness case of a sailor, who was in need for evacuation. Consequently, the center managed to pinpoint the position of the ship, which was, located at a distance of 77 nautical miles, west of Umluj province, in order to carry out the evacuation operation, immediately. The sailor, who did not show any symptoms of the coronavirus, was transported to a Saudi hospital as all precautionary and necessary medical measures were taken. His condition is stable, now.
