Saudi Gazette JEDDAH — Consul General Khalid Majid visited the Free Medical Camp for the community held at Pakistan consulate Jeddah recently. It was his first visit after taking up his assignment here. Shaiq Ahmed Bhutto, vice consul general, accompanied him to the event. The consul general, while stating that he was very happy to attend the medical camp, inspected patient registration desk, pharmacy and different medical facilities. He met the team of specialist men and women doctors who were examining the patients, testing blood sugar, blood pressure and providing medicine at the camp. He praised the devotion of the doctors, volunteers and supporters of the camp and said "due to your efforts the head of the consulate is high in the community, and Allah will reward you for your services." The consul general promised to continue his and the consulate's support for organizing free medical camp for Pakistani community in the consulate premises. Earlier, Sharif Zaman, a senior volunteer, received the consul general at the camp and delivered the welcome address. He highlighted the noble services of doctors and volunteers. Mohammed Nawaz Janjua recited few verses from Holy Qur'an followed by a Naat. Younus Abdul Sattar, camp director, presented a brief report of the camp. He said, "We are organizing such camps for the last 13 years under patronage of the Pakistan Consulate. Approximately 35,000 needy men, women and children have benefited from the free medical camps up till now." Dr. Amjad Obaid said, in addition to holding free medical camps every fortnight, we are also conducting health seminars, employment and educational workshops across Saudi Arabia. Dr. Rabia Khatoon described the facilities of ladies section and health related issues and how this section too has benefited. At the end newly in-charge of the camp Khalid Zia thanked the consul general, guests and audience.
