JEDDAH — The newly appointed Consul General of Pakistan Aftab Ahmed Khokhar visited the Pakistan Welfare Society's fortnight free medical camp no. 171 at the Pakistan Consulate on Friday. Khoker was accompanied by the president of Pakistan Welfare Society (PWS), Dr. Khalil ur Rehman. At the camp, the consul general met with other members of the PWS, including Younus Abdul Sattar, Dr. AmjadObaid, general secretary; Dr. Sarmad Salim joint secretary; Mohammad Nawaz Janjua, press and publication secretary; Dr. Shahid Minhas, laboratory in-charge; Mohammad Arshad, pharmacy in-charge; Dr. Zia, eye specialist; and Dr. Nauman Ahmed, Dr. Shahid Rasheed and Dr. Syed Ghazanfar Naqvi. The records of all the patients are systematically computerized. Syed Shehabuddin briefed the consul general about the procedure of registration. A large number of patients were present at the camp with their token numbers. Khoker witnessed the various activities taking place inside the camp, such as doctors treating the patients, free medicines being dispensed, among others. Dr. Amjad Obaid gave a general detail about the camp and emphasized the importance and benefits of these free medical camps which are continuously being organized by the PWS for the past six years, in addition to hosting them in Makkah, Taif and Madinah. Dr. Khalil ur Rehman told Khoker about health, social and educational activities of the PWS. Educational committee in-charge Dr. Shamas Toor explained the details of his department's activities, including the upcoming 6th Career Planning Seminar for students of Pakistan International School, Azizia. Khoker satisfied with the arrangements of the free medical camp praised the hard work of the PWS. He appreciated the efforts of the whole team of the PWS rendered toward the noble cause. He vowed every possible help for the expansion of medical services to be taken under the PWS. He promised that he would leave no stone unturned to help the Pakistani community.
