JEDDAH — Pakistan's Ambassador Manzoor-ul-Haq said the medical services that Pakistani doctors are providing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are ideal. He was speaking as a chief guest at the10th annual function and health seminar of Pakistan Welfare Society (PWS), a non-political organization, at Lasani restaurant recently. He said the members of PWS deserve congratulations as they are serving the community despite their massive engagements. "To organized a free medical camp is excellent, and they need to be praised of this humanitarian work," he said. He added, the selfless and dedicated services of these doctors to those in need is just great, and he assured that for this noble cause the Embassy and Consulate will continue its cooperation and support wholeheartedly. He said, "Other social and welfare organizations operate in Riyadh, which are working closely with welfare plans. PWS can be further expanded to do welfare work. In my observation I have found that the heart of the doctors are extreemly soft. God gave them humanity and pain in their hearts. So that pain takes them to philanthropy." He said we are proud on our doctors. They have performed exemplary services abroad and are the pride of the Pakistani nation. Pakistan Consul General Shehryar Akbar Khan expressed his profound pleasure at the welfare activities of PWS. He praised the organization and assured his full support toward arranging free medical camp at consulate premises. Earlier, the function started with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an followed by its translation by Qari Mohammad Asif. Naat was presented by poet Mohsin Alvi. Dr. Amjad Obaid, general secretary PWS, gave a lecture on health and natural factors, use of healthy and nutritious food. Dr. Rabia Khatoon gave lecture on blood pressure and ways to prevent it. Dr Irfan Hashmi gave lecture on sugar. President of PWS Dr. Khalil-ur-Rehman thanked the participants of the gathering. He shed light on the society's 10-year activities and outlined future plans of Pakistan Kidney Center (PKC). He requested the community to help by donating unused medicines at home. Children from Hala International School Jeddah (HISJ) presented beautiful tableau of patriotic songs which were prepared by teachers Erum, Zoomi and Juweria. Dr. Mahboob Siddiqui and Sameer Nidal Khan, director My Care Medical Center, gave away prizes to the quiz winners and School children respectively. Senior member Shams Toor conducted the event.
