Saudi Gazette. JEDDAH — The Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) Summer premier and morning finals were played at Eskan ground on Friday. In the Premier Final Zultec won against Abu Dawood by 11 runs with Abu Huraira emerging the man of the match. Whereas in the summer morning final Sadafco defeated MFCC by 5 wickets with Zubair declared man of the match. WPCA held celebrations and commemoration on the occasion of the 89th Saudi National Day with a match organized between the under 16 probables. A huge crowd turned up to witness the finals and the junior cricket at the WPCA Eskan arena. The occasion had the guests of honors from Saudi Cricket Ground (SCC) including Qasim Naqvi, Iftikhar Hussain, Sadiqul Islam, and others from WPCA present were Khurshid Zafar, Ilyas Mustafa, Sohail Shah, Waseem Mukadam and Shafeeq Ahmed. A glittering awards ceremony was held after the finals. Various prizes were distributed to deserving players who excelled in the tournament. Winning trophy was awarded to Iqbal Patel of Sadafco and Anis Malik received the trophy for Zultec CC. Runners up trophies were given to Umar Mukhtar of Abudawood and Yassin Waraich of MFCC. WPCA panel of umpires were awarded with cash prizes. The summer tournament was played over 15 overs due to unprecedented heat in the city. WPCA thanked all for their support, the affiliated clubs, umpires, grounds men and specially Saudi Cricket Center.
