My care Hala comprehensively beat Zultec by 59 runs to claim the Summer Premier trophy to bring an end to the WPCA 2010-2011 season at the Eskan Grounds here last Friday. Put into bat My Care Hala scored 252-4 in 20 overs and then restricted Zultec to 193-7 to claim a comfortable win. My Care Hala made a decent start with its openers making 75 for the first wicket. Kashif Shafeeq made 24, while Khurram Karamat departed after scoring 57. Later Nadeem Amin hit 44 and Azeem made 23. Rahat Ali made a quick-fire unbeaten 54 to take the total to 252. Bilal khan grabbed 3-39 as jawaid Iqbal bagged one wicket for Zultec. Zultec, requiring more than 12 runs per over, started well, but then lost a few quick wickets. Anis Malik was the first one to go, followed by Jawaid Iqbal and then Wajahat retired hurt for 25. Abdullah Essa made 46. Jawwad tried his best, but his 70 could only take the score to 193 for 7 in the stipulated 20 overs. Faheem Afrad, who recently returned from the Under-19 ACC challengers Cup in Malaysia with the Best Bowler's tag, scalped 2-27, Yasser bagged 2-48, Adalat 2-43 and Waqas one to become the Champion team. An awards ceremony was held soon after the match at the ground. Well-known Jeddah dignitaries and Saudi Cricket Center and Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) officials were among the huge crowd which had gathered to see the final.
