RIYADH — EDSA's 56th Season of Dart Team Tournament opened two weeks ago with exciting highlights with new teams and faces seen in the toe line. Aport Darters of Allen Balladares surprised their opponents in the last two weeks as they eliminated them one by one. Even Gary Terso's legendary Snipers team was the first victim in the preliminary battle (10-9) erasing his first record of 18 darts. Amin Uddin's Rock Cobras fell next from Aport's hands (10-9) in the second game. Still hot in the second week, Aport went on for the kill denying Lemad Darters of Ed de Leon (11-8) and the Boss team of Mike Buenaventura (10-9). Dart Tropa Vipers of Val Bajade also showed its prowess in darting by achieving the same record, 4-0 denying all their rivals during the preliminary rounds. The Boss was the first casualty of Bajade's team (14-5) losing as early as doubles round and later on declined back-to-back champs NBD, 13-6 in their first encounter. Although the pairs of Marvin Libres/Jay Orate and Bert Loyola/Jun Tellez responded to save the game, NDB's last doubles pair failed to equalize. Vipers continued the onslaught and delivered two more victories during the last week at the expense of Brand One (13-6) and Snipers (10-9) recording Blanche's two spectacular T80s that ignited the team's momentum. Pancho Caculitan topped the least darts record with 17 darts finish during the second week. Benedict Montanez had 19 darts and 112 highest out. Gary Terso recorded two least darts, 18 and 19 while Emmer Cortez and Bert Loyola each had 19 darts. For the Ton80, Yanzy Blanche took home 2 while Ollie Cayanan and Robert Teodoro had 1 each. The event is hosted by Nesto Hypermarket at Villagio Mall, Batha the official dart venue this season. It is organized by the Expat Darters of Saudi Arabia, a prime association of Filipino dart enthusiasts in the capital city under the leadership of Emmer Cortez and Ferdz Benting Jr.
