RIYADH – Team Snipers Reloaded of Edwin Relox and Gary Terso were unstoppable in the stepladder contest denying all rivals on top of the ladder and earned a final's berth after a big win against former champs NBD Travellers-1 last weekend. From second to the last position after the third elimination round, the winners stuck to their original plan to pour out their best in the stepladder showdown according to team anchor Ariel Agbunag. The crowd said their six-in-a-row victory is already a big accomplishment and so far the lone team to achieve such record based on number of wins in the history of EDSA. But the big honor will only come true after they defeat No. 1 contender Dartropa of Elmer Parago and Val Bajade, Jr. in the final encounter. After burying The Boss and Aport Team in the previous week, the Snipers continued the punishment last weekend at the expense of Brand One and NBD Travellers-1, 2-0 and 2-1 respectively. The victors had a square fight with Brand One in the first match (4-4) but quickly went for the kill in the doubles round via 25-finish of anchorman Ariel Agbunag (10-4). The scenario was repeated in the second match with Randy Brosas unleashing a fatal D20 outing (10-6) that blew the hopes of Brand One. In the match with NBD, Snipers settled a 5-3 lead in the singles but closed the game in the doubles through a D18 finish of veteran player Bomie Biscocho, 11-5. In the second encounter, NBD equaled every effort of the Snipers (Single: 4-4, Doubles: 4-4) and finally pulled off a victory in the last leg from Bert Loyola's D4. In the last canto, Snipers came back into action and finished the former champs with Gary Terso unrolling a D6 for the big win. NBD's efforts to stay in second spot by completing a 17-4 win-loss record at the end of the third elimination round were erased including a possible three-peat this year. In the race to MVP showdown, top player, Jun Jison claimed this season's MVP award by denying Reylan Raymundo in a 5 to 1 score card. Prior games showed Raymundo's prowess in darting by waylaying six top competitors in this tournament that included in his list two of the best players this season, Yanzy Blanche and Ariel Laxa of Dartropa. From rank 11 of the 16 contenders for MVP title, Raymundo spectacularly denied all six opponents that earned a big applause from the audience. Dart enthusiasts are excited to witness the final showdown of Dartropa and Snipers Reloaded in the coming weekend. Games are played in 01 mode via singles, doubles and team matches. This season's tournament is sponsored by Nesto Hypermarket and Villagio Mall located in Batha, Riyadh. The event is organized by the Expat Darters of Saudi Arabia (EDSA) under the leadership of Emmer Cortez and Ferdz Benting.
