King Abdul Aziz Public Library in Riyadh will hold Saturday an exhibition of historic pictures of Princess Alice, Countess of Athlone and granddaughter of Queen Victoria, taken in Saudi Arabia in February-March 1938 during the first ever visit to the Kingdom by a member of the British Royal Family. The pictures tell the story of Princess Alice's journey during which she visited Jeddah, Taif, Riyadh, Al-Ahsa, Al-Khobar and other places. The couple toured the local souks and tried traditional Saudi costumes. Princess Alice and her husband also met King Abdul Aziz during their stay. — SPA
