JEDDAH — Police arrested three people who are suspected of stealing five boxes containing over 200 mobile phones from the back of a pickup truck. The driver of the vehicle had stopped at a restaurant to eat and when he returned to the vehicle, the boxes were gone. He immediately informed police who began monitoring mobile phone shops in the city's Bani Malik neighborhood. Two individuals were eventually spotted trying to sell phones to a store. They were detained and asked to show where they purchased the phones from. The two men led police to their third accomplice, a Yemeni expatriate, who confessed to the theft. The official spokesman for Jeddah police, First Lt. Nawaf Al-Bouq, cautioned customers against buying mobile phones from questionable sources.
