Ladies shine in Nesto dart event
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 02 - 03 - 2019

RIYADH — The first anniversary of Nesto Hypermarket two weeks ago highlighted the three main dart events in men's draw doubles, men's singles and ladies bulls-eye.
The ladies category was the first so far in the history of dart events organized by the Expat Darters of Saudi Arabia (EDSA) in the Kingdom under the leadership of Emmer Cortez and Ferdz Benting Jr. Edz Relox emerged as the Bulls-eye queen while Migcampong and Jen Blanche received the first and second runner-up awards, respectively. Jun Jison clinched the singles event, while Jerome Rosaupan and Mike Recana were the doubles winners.
The event was also graced by the presence of Villagio Mall owner, Sheikh Ali Al-Thamim, and Nesto Management, PNB representatives Carlito Gaspar and Nasser.
In the previous weeks, Dart Tropa Vipers of Bert "Issa" Reyes maintained their momentum denying all their opponents during the entire second round robin week. The 53rd season dart champs settled at No. 1 slot with 10-1 win-loss record and 145 points. Brand One of Jhun Andres managed to grab two more victories at the expense of NBD (13-6) and The Boss (12-7) to land at No. 2 spot with 8-3 card and 126 points. Also Bulleros of Cris Ibuos rallied in the last week and walked home with two crucial wins to equal an 8-3 card with Brand One but on the third slow with 101 points. It won a thrilling decision match against Angels (10-9) and continued the hot momentum, denying Cobras (14-5) in the second canto.
Meanwhile, former 54th season champs NBD Sparks of Noel Borromeo settled only at fourth spot with a 5-6 card and 124 points, due to the absence of its key players. The new and rising team, Dart Cobras of Ariel Agbunag, settled at fifth place putting a threat to outscore NBD with the same card (5-6) and 92 points going to the last round robin.
The Angels of Tournament Director Romy Gorembalem seemed lost its touch as it only settled for a 2-10 win-loss card with 71 points. The Boss of Mike Buenaventura is in the last position with 1-10 card and 79 points.
Record holders of the week were Vergel Cabaton of Brand One with 14 darts finish. Cris Ibuos also added another cherry outshot. New Ton80 club members are Benedict Montanez (Brand One), Orlie Rollan (NBD) and Bong Bardon (Boss).
