Okaz/Saudi Gazette DAMMAM – Emir of Eastern Province Prince Saud Bin Naif described Al-Awamiyah in the Qatif governorate as a beacon of knowledge and ideas, saying that the city has engineers, writers, doctors, intellectuals, inventors and people from the broad spectrums of society who all stood out in their own ways. "It is not unusual for the Kingdom to embrace all layers of society in its cities and provinces," the prince said. Prince Saud said the Center of Al-Awamiyah development project was implemented by the locals from the city including its youth and craftsmen. "It is a great honor to see such a leading project built by Saudis with great precision," he said. "The development project is a source of pride and joy for all honest and true citizens of the country but is a source for hatred and anger for those who envy the city and hold grudges against its people. We do not look behind and we do not give any attention to those who envy and hate because they will be consumed by their anger and hatred. We do not seek out the flaws and drawbacks of others but we do not accept any attempts to contradict us when it comes to our Arab and Islamic identity." Prince Saud made the remarks while receiving a delegation representing all segments of people from Al-Awamiyah during his weekly audience with the public. "Al-Awamiyah development project is a duty upon us and the Saudi leadership is keen to meet the needs of the citizens and do everything it takes to develop cities and make them secure and safe. This is not going to be the only project but it will be followed by others. If the people of Al-Awamiyah are happy because of the project, I am happier than them a thousand times. Similar projects will be implemented in all governorates of the Eastern Province. This is a promise and a pledge from me. We will follow the orders of the leadership who spares no effort to ensure perfection in everything it does," Prince Saud said. He commended the efforts of the municipality for working around the clock to complete the project.
