RIYADH — Emir of Riyadh Prince Khalid Bin Bandar received Pakistan Ambassador Muhammad Naeem Khan at his office here on Tuesday. The ambassador congratulated Prince Khalid on assumption of his new responsibility, which he said manifested the confidence of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah in his capabilities. Khan recalled the contribution of Prince Khalid toward the strengthening of bilateral relations between Pakistan and the Kingdom in his previous role as the commander of Royal Saudi Land Forces. Prince Khalid thanked the ambassador for his warm wishes and said the Kingdom attaches great importance to its brotherly ties with Pakistan as the two countries enjoyed very close and long-standing relationship based on mutual trust and shared values. During the meeting, the ambassador raised the issue of 700 Pakistani workers of a construction company who have been stranded in the country for no fault of theirs. Prince Khalid expressed his complete understanding of the embassy's position and promised to address the matter on a priority basis to safeguard the rights of the affected workers. The ambassador appreciated the important role of the governorate in ensuring the wellbeing of Pakistani expatriate workers in Riyadh region. He said the embassy had always received prompt support from the governorate on all occasions. Prince Khalid reassured the ambassador he and his staff at then governorate would always try to resolve the issues of Pakistani community on a priority basis.
